March 15th 2010 - Chino Valley Medical Center in California will be voting April 1st and 2nd to decide if they will  unionize and choose UNAC as there bargaining agent.

January 14th 2010 -  Mountain View Hospital Las Vegas RN's lost their voice and independence today, losing to the California Nurses Association/NNOC in a 240 to 152 vote. Months ago their management accepted a "Neutrality Agreement" with the labor union. This agreement greatly limits the ability of staff who are against unionizing to educate their coworkers while allowing union organizers and pro-union activists virtual free rein.

July 21st 2009 -  There was supposed to be a vote July 21st and 22nd 2009 to decide if Mountain View Hospital Las Vegas Nevada nurses choose the California Nurses Association as their union. After months and months of organizing and spending thousands and thousands of dollars collected from the dues of it's members, the CNA filed a petition to block the election they demanded. Nurses of Mountain View are outraged that the CNA refused to hear the voice of the nurses even after the union and the NLRB was presented with a petition signed by hundreds of Mountain View employees demanding that the election go forward. Calls to the NLRB confirmed that it was the CNA who requested the election blocked.

July 7th 2009 - Hahnemann nurses vote against nurses unions 309 to 267! Handing the CNA/NNOC another defeat.  Read more here....

This is a historic and monumental decision to regain their professional voice and take back their hospital. We are so proud of you all in standing tall against the powerful AFL/CIO American Federation of Teachers/Nurses United.

March 9th 2009 - The California Nurses Association Withdraws from the Election at St Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, California. Under pressure from the Grassroots Team of Professionals, the CNA saw that defeat was staring them down. Congratulations St Agnes!!!!!

February 2009 - The California Nurses Association has once again disrespected the voice of nurses; St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno California, despite a 94% voter turnout, huge public support, a rally on the hospital grounds and a radio broadcast hosted by Inga Barks of KMJ 580 talk radio must suffer through another union organization campaign. The CNA claims that the nurses did not receive timely notification of the election because management posted the election notices SIX HOURS late in the weeks before the election. St Agnes Nurses will vote again March 11th and 12th, 2009.

May 22nd 2008 - The Nurses of St Agnes Medical Center have once again voted against unionizing with the California Nurses Association. For over a year the California Nurses Association has pressured the RN's at this Central California Hospital to organize. With help from a small but vocal and effective group of dedicated professionals, St Agnes Nurses saw the light and could not be deceived by CNA lies and rhetoric.
Final count......... 452 to 327 against the California Nurses Association! You guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 2008 - St Agnes Medical Center Fresno California nurses set to vote May 21st and 22nd 2008 againt unionization by the California Nurses Association.
On May 15th 2008 A rally was held by the grass roots group of RN's representing nurses opposed to the California Nurses Association. The turnout was huge and the rally a great success. A key point at the rally was the California Nurses Associations support of abortion and abortion legislation including partial birth abortion. Catholic nurses were shocked by the stand of the CNA and many were brought to tears as a priest of the hospital spoke out in the abortion issue and urged RN's to consider this when entering the voting booth.

April 24th 2008 - Scripps Encinitas Nurses Voted to remove the California Nurses Association as their collective bargaining agent. Once the vote is certified by the NLRB, the union will no longer represent the nurses there.
Stopunions.com expects the CNA to disrespect the will of the nurses by filing charges to overturn the results of the election.  Scripps Encinitas is no longer a house divided. Stay tuned.............

March 2008 - NLRB Overturns SEIU 399 Win at Good Samritan Hospital Los Angles Citing Union Interference

NLRB cited threats, verbal and physical abuse and bribes:

"For the reasons that I expressed above, I have recommended that objection numbers 2 and 3 be sustained. Objection number 2 involved principally the incident occurring at the end of September 2006, wherein union business agent Ronquillo verbally and physically threatened the Petitioner, Alan Smith, in the presence of a number of bargaining unit employees. Objection number 3 involved the incident on March 16, 2007, wherein union business agent Rodriguez offered Smith a number of benefits for abandoning his support for the decertification effort, including purple scrubs, a position as a keynote speaker at the Jesse Jackson rally, and most significantly, a job with the Union. This attempt to "bribe" Smith was subsequently widely disseminated among the bargaining unit employees when Smith and his election committee mailed a letter dated March 22, 2007, containing the substance of this incident to the homes of approximately 400 members of the bargaining unit."

August 8th 2007 - St Johns Mercy Medical Center Nurses begin voting in an election called by the CNA/NNOC. We send our support and wish them the same luck as the Nurses at Mt. Sinai in Chicago.

December 2006 - Western Medical Center Santa Ana Nurses Voted 170 to 149 AGAINST Union representation by the California Nurses Association. There were four contested votes. One vote disqualified. 100 eligible nurses did not vote.

December 2006 - Registered Nurses at Tri-City Medical Center have filed for decertification of the California Nurses Association only days after approving what many nurse say was a terrible contract that gained them nothing they did not already have. Nurses voted to approve this contract only to help move things forward and be able to show the world what little the CNA can actually accomplish.

The CNA posted a very deceiving victory page on their website marking Tri-City Medical Centers new contract. http://www.calnurse.org/media-center/press-releases/2006/december/page.jsp?itemID=29048253ÊThe announcement leads readers to believe that the CNA won the Tri-City RN's a pension plan. The truth is that Tri-City isÊa district hospital and its employees had a pension plan long before the CNA came along. Sources within Tri-City tell stopunions.com that the new contract has changed nothing. Many believe that the pay increases cited in the contract are lessÊthan they would have received without the CNA. If you then deduct the dues payments of up to $1008.00 a year then the contract is a huge loser for the Nurses there.

A group of Nurses have started a blog http://www.sofedupnow.blogspot.com/ to make public their dissatisfaction with the California Nurses Association

November 2006 - Unconcerned that nurses would prefer to enjoy the Christmas Holidays with family and friends, the California Nurses Association demands an election for December 27th and 28th 2006. This just perpetuates the blatant disrespect the CNA has for nurses, concerned only with collecting more dues.
