Mission Hospital

Request To Revoke Your California Nurses Association Authorization Card:

Without reservation, we reject any form of unionization at Mission Hospital. As nurses, we are rarely satisfied with the status quo and we continually seek out new and innovative ways to improve patient care and the most current evidence-based practice.  We are certain that the hard work all of our nurses have put into building Shared Governance committees and councils have a greater potential to successfully guide professional nursing practice at Mission Hospital into the future.  In addition, we feel our Professional Practice Model represents the rights of our patients and interests of Mission’s front line staff.  We are acutely aware that Professional nursing practice is incompatible with a dues-driven, politically motivated union, especially when unions (the CNA) claims that Shared Governance “legitimizes nurses’ control over practice” and calls it an “entrapment”.  Unions have failed so many other institutions, and leave in their wake a battleground of lies and broken promises.  Unions are outdated, unnecessary, stand in the way of our profession, and would not support the Magnet status we have all worked so hard to achieve.
