Rio Grande Regional Hospital Decertifies the NNOC/CNA

July 11, 2012
NNOC Decertified at Rio Grande Regional Hospital.
The independant RN’s of Rio Grande Regional Hospital banded together to educate and motivate their co-workers. Their professionalism, dedication and positive message opened the eyes and ears of the caring and dedicated Nurses of Rio Grande to defeat and remove the NNOC.  The nurses spoke loud and clear. Let’s see if the union respects their decision.

Congratulations.

Nurses Of Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen Texas are voting July 11 2012 to decertify the NNOC.

I love Donna Kennedy! I met her about 10 years ago and I have to say she is a hard working woman who was nothing but great with our nurses.,

    Post Script

It was a long and bumpy ride. They say it always gets darkest just before dawn. “They” are right. Around September 8th, mere days before the official and leitimate NLRB hearing, the union (CNA/NNOC/NNU, whatever name they chose to call themselves it’s all the same) finally conceded and threw in the towel after even their very own arbitrator essentially said none of their objections had enough legitimate value to derail our decertification. It was almost anti-climactic, because I was prepared to ‘bring it’ at the hearing.

Since then, our sister hospitals have ratified their contracts….I’m sure it won’t be long before they realize.

Any time there is a call for help, anywhere nurses are in trouble and facing forced unionization, the “Lone Anti-Union Nurse” will ride again….by passing on her mask and the spirit to fight for what is right. The union thugs can scurry away like the cockroaches they are, because they cannot withstand what I call the daylight cure.

As for now, I return to my children, and the joy of caring for my patients. Heaven help them if I ever have to fight them off again.

Hi, I need help as the NNOC has invaded El Paso Hospitals. What I specifically need: Did employees at Rio Grande get money from the union for organizing

  4. Lynnie August 25, 2012 at 04:31 #

Well……yet another delay! Voted them out on July 11th. Yet here we are August 25th, with the postponed date being postponed! The ORIGINAL hearing was supposed to be August 1st. The rescheduled hearing was supposed to be August 29th, now we are looking at September 10th….a full two months later and they’re still not gone!

    Who’s not “respecting” our “voices”?!?

  5. Sherwood August 18, 2012 at 21:02 #

Lynnie I have been through what you are going through and that is why stopunions.com exists. I had to learn from scratch the rules and laws as they apply to me (and you) the employee who does not want or need a union interfering in my relationship with my employer.
I spent a lot of time meeting with and talking to people like you and I, who have fought the fight and won or lost. I have also met people who make it their job to help people like us. Some of these people are as passionate and dedicated as I am and we donate our time as well as our resources when possible to try to level the playing field.
The National Nurses Organizing Committee or NNOC or the California Nurses Association or CNA or whatever name the want to use is disrespecting your colleagues and the nursing profession by not accepting the fact that they lost and it’s time to move on.

  6. Lynnie August 18, 2012 at 20:38 #

Oh, Y’ALL! It has been so CRAZY! Everyone keeps asking me why I’m still wearing mt No Unions button. Great conversation piece. Gives me the opportunity to expain that the union has NOT ‘respected’ our ‘voice’ (FUNNY, considering that’s their “buzzwords” in selling their “protection”)

Their main “objection” to our win is that the hospital MUST HAVE done something wrong, since we beat them. That they somehow supplied the logo I was up til almost three a.m . one night designing, trying to reflect who we are distinctively, as well as where we are from. That they somehow PAID my friend who came down to help me (AS IF! We wanted to pass the hat and take up a collection for her and she wouldn’t hear of it, she’s just THAT ADAMANTLY in hate of thses crooks!)

These creeps just cannot wrap their little pea brains around the fact that we beat them fair and square, even though they had carefully stacked all of the cards in their favor! Tie one of my hands behind my back, and I’m just going to swing harder with the one I’ve got!

They even had the NERVE to try to subpoena me to their ‘kangaroo court’ arbitration (which is between the union and the hospital–I’m not a party to it and it’s not part of the LEGITIMATE process). This arbitration is an attempt to derail the LEGITIMATE NLRB process, and they tried to subpoena me to supply them the ammunition to shoot me down with. I have already had to file ULP’s against them because of this.

PRAY HARD these next several days that we can finally have our election certified and put those corrupt jerks behind us.

  7. Anna August 14, 2012 at 19:06 #

Congratulations on your decertification! I am a nurse at SLUH hospital in St. Louis where we recently got sucked into this world. The union came to our hospital and we had a vote in 1 month . . . we had such little time to educate our nurses, and by the time we started, they were already believing the union’s promises and very few wanted to listen to anybody that would stomp on the dreams! It was so disheartening, but hearing of your success leaves me hopeful! Good luck battling their whiny appeals! Nurses are strong and most certainly CAN advocate for themselves!!

  8. Roseanne2 July 29, 2012 at 15:07 #

    Sherwood,

You were right! I hear they filed “objections” to the election! The NLRB scheduled a hearing for August 1st, but the UNION had the nerve to ask for postponement. I guess they need more time to try to make stuff up. Pathetic!

The nurses promised to keep us posted!

  9. Susamma July 13, 2012 at 20:23 #

Thanks for all the support but we still need your prayers !!!
These foriegn bodies are stuck up in our hospital, They love our breakrooms and none of our nurses wants to see them again.
i think we should have big poster in front of our breakroom saying leave us!
we need to eat with peace in our break rooms!!!
    We dont need you here
We don’t want any foreign bugs !!!

    • Sherwood July 13, 2012 at 22:32 #

Expect the NNOC or NNU or CNA or California Nurses Association or National Nurses Organizing Committee or AFL/CIO, whatever they are calling themselves to totally disrespect your opinion and your vote. They will file charges that somehow, someway someone hurt their feeling and broke the rules. They know it’s not true, they just want to delay the inevitable. This is what they do.

Great Job! You all had very little time, no money and no support except each other and you beat the big boys and girls fair and square. You should be proud.

  10. Lynnie July 12, 2012 at 21:04 #

Y’all, the support we got from everyone when they finally were not afraid to voice it was OVERWHELMING! We’re not out of hte woods yet. SIx more days and I’ve already heard rumors out of ER that they’re hitting the breakrooms hard this weekend, trying to shake down some dirt on us to try to derail the process take away our hard-earned win. We have made all kinds of sacrifices and have endured lack of food and sleep for weeks now to get this, working with every spare scrap of time we have in which to do so. And we are up agaist these people that are trained and well-versed in their lies and tricks. I guess they didn’t think that we could do this on our own, so they are trying now to find some way to “prove” management somehow helped us. I WISH we could have gotten their help! That would have at least taken some of the incline off the uphill fight we were fighting. Imissed my kids like crazy after not getting to see them for three days, but I knew they were safe and secure in a girlfriend of mine’s hands.

  11. Sherwood July 11, 2012 at 21:19 #

Congratulations on your victory and thank you for allowing us into your world.

    Congratulations! YOU DID IT!
    156-127…AWESOME!

  13. Lynnie July 7, 2012 at 07:18 #

Susamma, the first link apparently had the picture taken down, but hte second link was a very good read! The more we research this, the more important in becomes to me, becuase I am just heartsick at what will happen if they fully get their greedy hooks into us! It’s up to us and only us (employees) to stop them. It has been an uphill fight all the way, but we’ve been making tremendous headway and by reaching out, there’s so many more that thought they were alone and have put out their own stuff! We are NOT alone and we are NOT a minority. We need to make this the highest turn out for any vote EVER! The union is counting on making sure all of their people are at the polls, so everyone that is not for the union needs to make sure not to miss it, either. Ony by casting that vote can we truly be heard. PROVE TO THE UNION WE DO HAVE OUR OWN VOICE!!!!!! We don’t need theirs.

Big companies like GM Motors has shut down because of unions, then how can RGRH survive!

Read this article: Tragedy of GM Motors to know the effect of union and their irrational contracts have on organizations that serve the public!

THIS WEEK IS ALMOST OVER AND IT HAS BEEN AN “EYE OPENER” FOR LOTS OF
EMPLOYEES ESPECIALLY THE RNs OF RGRH. IT IS AMAZING HOW THE UNION WILL
FIND A WAY TO DIVERT OUR FOCUS TO OUR MAIN GOAL…THE GOOD THING IS,WE, THE INDEPENDENT RNs WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET THEM OUT OF OUR SIGHT EVEN, WE HAVE TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF OUR HEARTS TO BLUE. IT WILL STILL BE WARM OR TURN A “RIO” UPSIDE DOWN, IT WILL STILL FLOW..SO, WE WILL CONTINUE TO PREACH THE TRUTH AND SOON IT WILL SET US FREE! THANKS TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS AND OUR GREAT TEAM “INDEPENDENT RNs” GOD BLESS.

    • Susamma July 5, 2012 at 18:28 #

We the nurses at RGRH needs to unite together to vote the union out. Please dont get attracted to the food they serve you, it is from nurses who are paying their dues. and your dues will go to another hospital to be unionized. All the union reps are paid good to talk lie to the nurses.
RGRH is the best hospital to work in the valley!

Lets pray for our fellow nurses that their eyes may open to the truth.
God bless us and our efforts to throw the NNOC out of our hospital !!!

      VOTE NO TO UNION

  17. Lynnie July 4, 2012 at 21:17 #

Dolly, you said it girl! We’ve all been working our tails off to reach out and connect the dots. The Union tries to trick people into thinking they’re such a minority if they are not for the union.

They are suck big fat LIARS!

I cannot believe how much love and support has come our way from our RN colleagues, our non-RN colleagues, the doctors, pretty much EVERYONE! (well, maybe except Donna Kennedy’s) I have also seen the look in some of the union believers’ eyes, as though they are finally coming out from under the union organizer’s wicked dellusions.

  18. DOLLY BARRETT July 4, 2012 at 11:14 #

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK OUR GREAT TEAM ” THE INDEPENDENT NURESES OF THE RGRH ” THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE NON- RN, ANGRY SEIU MEMEBERS, AND FRIENDS, TO ALL OF YOU, AGAIN, MY MILLION THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!
AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, I’VE BEEN WITH RGRH FOR ALMOST 17 YEARS. IT IS THE BEST HOSPITAL IN THE RIO GRANDE ! NO UNION! MAYBE, THE BEST IN THE” RIGHT TO WORK STATE”. I WOULD NEVER HAVE MY OWN FAMILY BE TREATED ELSEWHERE……FOR SO MANY REASONS… IN A WEEK TIME FROM NOW, WE WILL EXPERIENCE ,THE MOST CRUCIAL MOMENT OF OUR LIFE, MOMENT THAT WILL AFFECT OUR GREAT HOSPITAL, OUR JOBS, OUR FAMILIES AND OUR FRIENDS. RNS DECISIONS THIS COMING ELECTION, JULY 11TH COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING…THINK HARD AND THINK HARD AGAIN, TO ALL ELIGIBLE VOTERS, MARK YOUR CALENDAR, AND SET YOUR ALARM CLOCK ON TIME, CALL A FRIEND, I SUGGEST, CALL ALL FRIENDS, YOUR VOTE IS VERY IMPORTANT.
STAND UP FOR YOURSELF, TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A LOUDER VOICE. NOT A UNION VOICE!!…………….GOD BLESS AND HAPPY 4TH! dolly

  19. lovell July 2, 2012 at 19:57 #

PERSONALLY……………………..i don’t need to pay anybody to voice my opinion. I can definitely voice it MYSELF without PAYING any union dues.

i even argue with Tmobile for charging me 20cents for a text message i did not send….
SURELY SURELY SURELY……I AM NOT PAYING ANYBODY for “services” that i don’t need.

rio grande regional is a better place to work compared to other hospitals in the valley..

you can ask the nurses who has 2 jobs….working in other hospitals.

please please please V O T E NO NO NO NO NO NO to union

    • Lynnie July 2, 2012 at 20:49 #

AMEN! Sister-girl, preach the truth and it shall set you free!

  20. the "Lone Anti-Union Nurse" July 2, 2012 at 04:46 #

    Lovell, you’re right, we CAN!

I’ve notices so many people saying they’re against the Union, but they’re afraid to speak up. One nurse even told me she signed a Union card not even knowing what it was because they told her it was to get information. It wasn’t until too late she realized: she didn’t even keep her portion of the card, because she didn’t know. She, and all the others that fell for some of these tricks, need to know that just because they signed that card does not mean they’re ‘stuck’. BUT they need to VOTE to make it happen. The Union is also going to try to bully them into votingfor them becuase htey signed the c ard. They do not HAVE to vote for the Union if they do not want to, but it IS important to vote! They’re going to tell others that not voting is like voting “NO”….but it’s NOT. Each vote not cast makes the votes that ARE cast carry more weight.

They were only voted in by a narrow margin two years ago. If the 50+ RN’s that didn’t vote last time WOULD have voted, this discussion would probably not even be taking place right now!

Wouldn’t it suck if we were stuck with them like last time because not enough people made the effort to speak up? We CAN post flyers, we CAN hand out information, we CAN do all the things hte Union is doing…..except the hospital isn’t allowed to let us use a classroom and set up. Something about the “neutrality” agreement. How “neutral” is that, right? We have NINE DAYS to get ready to fight for our FREEDOM! Let’s keep our hospital Union-free!

  21. lovell June 30, 2012 at 11:52 #

are we allowed to pass out flyers like the union representatives do? if nnoc or pro-union nurses are dessiminating information to campaign nurses to join the union, anti-union nurses should be allowed to do the same.

    • Roseanne2 July 1, 2012 at 20:23 #

Absolutely! You can passout flyers, wear buttons, have rallies! YOU CAN DO IT ALL!
      BEST WISHES!

  22. Lynnie June 26, 2012 at 19:21 #

I have heard back from some of our othre colleagues that have been posting like crazy in their respective units, that their postings keep getting taken down. That’s ok: we have more! We’re more than happy to keep posting THE TRUTH as much as we have to…..there’s only 15 days til July 11th and the Union is COUNTING on their side being the only ones that bring out the vote! Even if there were, for example, one thousand nurses at our facility, if only twenty showed up to vote, then the majority of that twenty would determine how the rest of us spend the next year or two of our lives.Wouldn’t it be SAD if 11 people made the decision on how one thousand people live? That’s what could happen if not enough people care to show up and speak up for themselves.

We are RN’s, we are patient ADVOCATES, can we not speak for ourselves? That’s what NNOC is trying to convince us. How the heck do they sell us on this idea? The Independent RN’s of Rio Grande Regional Hospital stand strong in our position: we don’t need a Union, we work at a five-star rated hospital, we have great benefits, and we take care of our own!

In the words of my eight year old, “tell the Union to shut up!”…..even an eight year old can see through this

  23. Lynnie June 25, 2012 at 10:55 #

Finding your website was a GODSEND to our team! We have such a short time to accomplish so much! Counting it down: 16 days to freedom if we can get the word out! Thank you all for your support and know that the Independent RN’s of RGRH will cheer you on in your fight, too.

  24. Sherwood June 25, 2012 at 08:05 #
