In at will, it’s what who you know. Not what you know.

It is sad to walk thru the halls of this place I call my second home now. There is such a division amongst the staff and it is heartbreaking. I witnessed something today that has changed my vote. I was previously for the union because the UNAC RN’s seem to be happy since they joined. However after lunch today I have changed my mind. I witnessed several ‘pro union’ employees taunting and talking bad about ‘anti union’ employees who were getting together to show their support. I saw the union do the same thing last week but now that the anti union group has done it they say it is wrong and speak bad. Why? What is the difference?
These ‘pro union’ people are too aggressive and harrassing now. I can only imagine how bad it will be if they get voted yes.
Thank you for opening my eyes to your evil ways!

      Thank you CNA 🙂

And you are right about the division. It’s sad to see how pro union employees treat the pro Parkview employees even after the election.

It’s never going to be the same anymore ever since the union came in.
Just know that you are not alone . We are strong.

It is heartbreaking knowing many employees are being given false hope if they vote yes for the union. The bottom line is if they vote yes they will donate 2% of the the 3% they are fighting for and if you do the math that leaves the employee a 1% raise. Now does that make sense? They will be paying the union the money they can well have. This is not rocket science people! Keep your money and VOTE NO!

      SICK AND TIRED!

I’m too afraid to say my name of where I work. The union has harassed me at work! Texted me at all hours of the night! Came to my home and scared my children and parents! Even came to my church!!

Enough! Please vote NO! I’m begging you. If this is how the union is now. Wait til they are here in our little hospital. There are a lot of us out there who are voting no! please be strong

  4. No Union! February 24, 2014 at 00:06 #

Dean/Michael/o.O, you are telling people to do research. You should take your own advice. Retaliation free? Harrassment free? What do you guys think you are doing by being bully’s? Enough already. If it was so bad why did you come back? Really? You know what, keep it up, this is the best thing to happen so people vote no.

  5. Dean February 23, 2014 at 14:15 #

I challenge anyone pro or anti to go down the street to Riverside Community Hospital and ask 10 employees how they like being Union. I bet you 10/10 will say they like being Union with all the benefits they have fought for and won in bargaining. SEIU has been wining better benefits, wages and respect all across the country. What makes anyone thing we can’t win at the bargaining table as well? Do your research everyone. Don’t let management fool you.

    • PCH employee February 23, 2014 at 15:15 #

Dean as you have a good challenge here it is already off to a bad start. I gave your challenge a thought and contacted a co worker that works at PCH as well as RCH. Their standpoint is that the union has done nothing and will do nothing for Parkview as well. Not to mention parkview doesnt have the deep pockets that other hospitals have. They will be voting NO on march 13th. Please enlighten me on some factual benefits that SEIU has won for RCH through bargaining. Im tired of hearing the generalized statement of better benefits, wages and respect. Where is the proof in writing of actual gains?

      • Dean February 23, 2014 at 21:04 #

Wow you sound like a lawyer has spoken to you or you are a lawyer yourself. I have employees I work with who have worked for RCH in the past and one who still does and they loved it and gave me quite a few examples of how their jobs have been saved, not to mention right off the bat received a dollar raise. “why aren’t they there anymore” You’re thinking. Not that its any of your business but he had moved away with his wife and didn’t want to commute. They moved back to be closer to family. Also they have in their contract that no one can be outsourced during the terms of their contract. Anyway, I said ask 10 and make sure they aren’t management btw. Sorry, I should have said the majority will say yes. My bad! Really everyone, go do your research yourself. Don’t listen to me or this professionally trained person who doesn’t care about how much you make. For all we know that could be the CEO himself. Listen to logic. Well I’m not here to fight have fun you guys and if we lose there will be a lot of regret after when he outsources more departments.

        • PCH employee February 24, 2014 at 20:01 #

Dean thank you for the compliment but I am neither a lawyer or the CEO. I am simply a PCH employee that does not believe the lies of the union benefits. People are being fooled by the dollar signs and falicies of better benefits. Health ins. Costs are sky rocketing everywhere from obama care. And a $1 raise minus the unions 2% cut… I do not see how that is worth the new rules that will come with the union contract. I really hope that you have read article 21 management rights from the UNAC contract that was sent out in a memo. That is a good indication of what management with look to mirror if SEIU comes in. Jobs can still be outsourced and jobs can still be eliminated! People please educate yourself. Every vote counts!

    • No Unions February 24, 2014 at 09:48 #

      “Dean”
I took your challenge and guess what 8/10 said they wish they would have kept the union out. They have done nothing to benefit them and they have not provided anything that RCH was not already providing.
      What is the next challenge?

    • pchworker February 25, 2014 at 17:43 #

Dean you and your unhappy band of followers are what is making working conditions so difficult at Parkview. Before this union business started. You could witness happy smiling employees busy with their work. Please and thank yous. A family of people with a common mission. We need to focus on keeping our business well. It keeps us employed and is very protective of the employees. I know from experience. Parkview has the best work environment of any acute care hospital in the southern California region.

  6. vote NO February 22, 2014 at 20:49 #

I find it very ironic that in this trailing time at Parkview with the union election date closing in the flyers talk about unfair treatment and lack of respect that we have suffered when in fact the union supporters are the only ones I see with a lack of respect. These tyrants are taking down flyers posted by PCH, bullying coworkers and scaring them into believing these union empty promises. SEIU will say anything to get you to vote yes because all they are after is your money. The only thing they can promise is they will take 2% of our pay. The tyrants of parkview want us to vote yes because they want more days to be able to call off and more money with less work. Please don’t let Parkview be SEIU-UHW’s next victim. Vote NO

    • o.0 February 23, 2014 at 21:13 #

hmmm this sounds fake. “in this trialing time at Parkview” “these tyrants are taking down flyers” haha at least we aren’t X’ing out faces like anti-union are haha. What like management wont say anything to keep their money in their pockets? If you ask me both sides are evil. Which evil are you going to choose? SEIU where we have a chance to win on a bargaining table or Management where if we lose everything is up in the air and they can change anything at any moment? I’d rather have some control over my life. That’s just me.

Dean/Michael/o.O, you are telling people to do research. You should take your own advice. Retaliation free? Harassment free? What do you guys think you are doing by being bullies? Enough already. If it was so bad why did you come back? You controlled that. You know what, keep it up, this is the best thing to happen so people vote no.

  7. No Union February 22, 2014 at 19:31 #

The people saying they have worked in this horrible work environment for years and believe the union will change this must realize a few things:
    1. YOU have the CHOICE where you work, YOU CHOSE Parkview
    2. YOU have had every OPPORTUNITY to walk away in the ‘several years’ YOU have CHOSEN to work at Parkview
    3. YOU have a RESPONSIBILITY to report ANY and ALL unsafe working conditions to the State (if regarding patient care) and/or the Labor Board if not a patient care issue. We have had SEVERAL investigations from self reported as well as complaints. ALL of which have obviously ended well. Otherwise our doors would have been closed.
STOP complaining and DO the JOB YOU were HIRED to do!!

  8. Union Worker February 22, 2014 at 17:18 #

As an experienced employee working under the union, and my father being a union representative I am extremely opposing to this decision. You will only regret it if the Union is approved. My father makes about $100,000 a year not doing anything but collecting employees’ hard working cash.
I once was suspended by my manager for 2 weeks with no communication on when I would return. I would call my rep an I would get no answer(my father is from a different union) .The only way to get their attention is to threaten them by stating you will call the labor board. I never heard anything back from them but I was called by my manager to come back.

In summary you are wasting your hard earning pay check with no guarantee they will help. You are helping them get rich

  9. PRO February 21, 2014 at 21:48 #

If you have been here for any number of years, as most of us have, you must realize that having a union is the only way we can ever hope for a fair and retaliation free environment.
When we all agreed to organize and join a union, it was because of the protections afforded to us by having a collective bargaining agreement…Of course management wants us to be blinded by the cost of dues but the Reality is that our dues are minimal when you consider all the benefits of having a union to defend us from the harassment and intimidation that many of us have to go through on a daily basis. …..we all need to remember that this is just a scare tactic to detour you from the reason why you decided to get a union here at parkview.
As for the dues, if you pay $400.00/year that’s approximately $7.00/week…..well worth all the benefits and protection you will get……keep an open mind and really educate yourselves on the benefits of having a union vs being an at will employee.

    • GUESS February 22, 2014 at 12:58 #

The only ones who are blind are those who want to sign a BLANK AGREEMENT with the UNION, not really knowing what you are agreeing to. UNION REPS get paid to brain wash employees and take our hard-working money.

This UNION Petition is creating a division amongst employees in which is saddening to see.

I hope all the workers realize that it will go up in price and not make any since for what they get out of it.
